Boseman has been battling colon cancer for the past four years. "A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much," his family said in the statement. Boseman never spoke about his diagnosis in public and only few of his close friends knew about his diagnosis. The actor continued work until the end. He passed away in Los Angeles with his family by side.
