Karan Wahi to auction the painting inspired by his mother for Pragya Kapoor’s Ek Saath – The Earth Foundation

Bollywood actor, TV host, and former Delhi Under-17 cricketer Karan Wahi will be auctioning a one-of-a-kind digital piece of art online that will raise money for Ek Saath-The Earth Foundation, a charitable organization founded by Pragya & Abhishek Kapoor. Karan Wahi is the first Indian (with more to be announced in the coming weeks) to join the ranks of other world-renowned Cryptograph creators including Adrien Brody, Paris Hilton, Ashton Kutcher, Jason Momoa, Kristen Wiig, Ethereum creator Vitalik Buterin, Bitcoin.com CEO Roger Ver, Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello, producer and songwriter Scott Storch, Black Eyed Peas star apl.de.ap and renowned artists like Alec Monopoly, Joe Sola, RETNA and many more.

For his Cryptograph, Karan decided to first create a physical piece of art, which he then digitized, before destroying it in a live video, in order to fully transcend his work of art into the digital realm. Karan’s mesmerizing painting is now a fully digital and timeless piece of art that cannot be forged and will exist forever.

Karan Wahi’s Cryptograph, titled New Born Mother, is an abstract painting made in honor of his mother. He uses a wide range of vibrant colours and swirling effects in his piece that are meant to symbolize the deep emotions and themes relating to the unique connection that exists between mothers and their new-borns.

Speaking about his Cryptograph, Karan said, “I named it New Born Mother because every time a new-born comes to life, it brings new life to their Mother. This digital canvas of colour depicts new beginnings, birth, and motherhood. The myriad of colours I use represents the multitude of emotions that a new mother has, from the sensitive blues to the protective reds through to the bright yellows and more. To me, my mother represents life itself and to depict that in an art piece has been very special for me. I made this piece at a turning point in my life and hence it forever holds a piece of my heart.”
