The year 2020 was rather different from conventional years due to the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown that shut businesses the world over. Another casualty of this was the film industry nearly shutting down with theatres and shooting of films grinding to a halt. However, despite the pandemic, there has been a lot happening in Bollywood. To take a closer look at this we at Bollywood Hungama decided to take a look at the year 2020 in numbers.
Staring off we have none other than the Badshah of Bollywood, King Khan himself who donated 500 Remdisvir injections to patients in Delhi.
Akshay Kumar made headlines for his Rs. 99 cr fee that he charged Sajid Nadiadwala for the film Bachchan Pandey.
Another person who made headlines for his remuneration was Arshad Warsi who quoted Rs, 4 cr for the Sajid Nadiadwala film Bachchan Pandey.
Away from remuneration for acting, film producers as well made headlines. One such personality was Karan Johar who has signed a 5 film deal with the southern production Lyca Productions.
Not far behind is Hrithik Roshan who will be creating a record as such by playing 4 different roles in his next venture Krrish 4. Though details of the film have not yet been finalized, reports state that Rakesh Roshan has decided to go above and beyond in making the fourth instalment of the Krrish franchise one of the biggest visual spectacles of Indian cinema.
1960 – The upcoming Ranveer Singh starrer Cirkus is said to be picturized against the 1960 era as the backdrop of the film.
8 – The man of the year Sonu Sood, who is now being hailed as a saviour by many migrants mortgaged 8 of his properties to raise Rs. 10 cr to help the needy during the pandemic.
Rs. 1 cr – Diljit Doshanj shot into the limelight during the pandemic after he voiced his support for the farmers. If that wasn’t all, Diljit even donated Rs. 1 cr to procure warm clothing for the protesting farmers.
Rs. 21 cr – This astronomical figure is said to be the amount veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan is charging to be part of the Prabhas starrer.
Rs. 32 cr – Love knows no bounds, and for Alia Bhatt the sum of Rs. 32 cr was the price she paid to acquire an apartment in the same housing complex as beau Ranbir Kapoor.
Rs. 26 lakhs – It wasn’t all donations and fees that made headlines, in fact Kunal Khemmu shelled out a whopping Rs. 26 lakhs for his new BMW R1250 bike.
Rs. 300 cr – This astronomical sum is rumoured to be the budget of the Ranbir Kapoor – Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra that is being directed by Ayan Mukherji.
Rs. 1 lakh – Singer Neha Kakkar made headlines this year after she donated Rs. 1 lakh to a contestant on the popular show Indian Idol. Reportedly, Neha was so moved by the contestant’s life story that donating this amount felt just right.
45% - Not all actors quote high figures for remuneration, there are a few who opt for a revenue sharing model, and one such person is Shah Rukh Khan. King Khan reportedly has signed a deal for 45% of the profits that Yash Raj Films will earn from the film Pathan.
Rs. 100 cr – Akshay Kumar is not only one of the most bankable actors in Bollywood today, but he is also one of the highest paid. As per reports Kumar charged a whopping Rs. 100 cr to to feature in Mudassar Aziz’s next comedy.
