National Award-winning filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar has wrapped up the shoot of his film India Lockdown in a start to end schedule. The film that went on floor on January 23 was shot in Mumbai and Pune. The film has a talented cast with actors like Prateik Babbar, Sai Tamhankar, Shweta Basu Prasad, Prakash Belawadi and Aahana Kumra who all have made their own space in the world of entertainment, with their unique choice of content and their acting acumen.
As a filmmaker who is known to take leaves out of reality for his cinema, Bhandarkar has been intrigued by the universal impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on people, irrespective of strata and demographics. Through India Lockdown, he is set to explore the various facets of this fascinating subject. Madhur Bhandarkar confirms, “Yes, we have finished shooting for the film. With such amazing actors by my side, it has been a memorable experience. The post production will start soon.”
Producer Pranav Jain said, “I was pleasantly surprised to see the shoot getting over in a perfectly planned manner in these difficult times. Working with Madhur, his team and the whole cast has been a wonderful experience.”
There is considerable excitement for the project as Madhur is known to make realistic cinema. India Lockdown inspired by true events, is produced by Bhandarkar Entertainment and P J Motion pictures. The film also stars Zarin Shihab, Ayeesha Aiman (former Miss India International), Hrishita Bhatt, Saanand Verma (of Bhabhi ji Ghar Pe Hain fame) and Satvik Bhatia.
