“My mother was big fan of the horror genre, she would have been happy watching me in Roohi” - Janhvi Kapoor
Although the great Sridevi never acted in a horror film she was a great fan of the genre. Her daughter Janhvi Kapoor, who is has dabbled in horror in Roohi reveals this. “My mother was big fan of the horror genre. She enjoyed getting scared and all that. I am sure she would have been happy watching me in Roohi.”
Janhvi who is as nervous as a student sitting for her final exams says she is anxious to know the audiences’ verdict. “Doing something scary and actually scaring the audience are two different things. I feel we’ve done our best. But still I can’t help feeling nervous. I am only two films old. I wonder how the audience would react to my chudail act.”
Which is the scariest film Janhvi has seen, “The Exorcism Of Emily Rose. I watched it any number of times before plunging into my character.” In fact there is mention of Emily Rose in the film when Rajkummar Rao recalls having seen a woman possessed in that cult classic.
All the three principal actors have been promoting the film frantically.
Says Janhvi, “I’ve been shooting in Patiala, running to Delhi and other venues for promotion and driving back to Patiala for my shoot. It’s hectic, yes. But I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’ve seen how hard my mother worked. In fact do you know why Judaai is my favourite film of my mother’s? Because she was carrying me when she shot the film.”
