Soon, Shreya's comment section was filled with mixed responses. While a section of people fee; that IPL being cancelled will not help the country and that it helps them in being less depressed and provides temporary distraction from the gloomy affairs of the country, others supported Shreya and agreed that IPL be postponed.
Meanwhile, former Australian cricketer Adam Gilchrist had tweeted, “Best wishes to all in India. Frightening Covid numbers. #IPL continues. Inappropriate? Or important distraction each night? Whatever your thoughts, prayers are with you.”
India continues to witness a massive surge in COVID-19 cases with the healthcare system struggling to accommodate all those getting infected. There has been a massive shortage of oxygen, hospital beds and medicines as well.
