“Our medical fraternity is at breaking point”- Priyanka Chopra Jonas pens a note amid COVID-19 second wave in India
India is currently facing the second wave of COVID-19 which has affected the country far worse than the first wave. Amid this global star Priyanka Chopra Jonas took to social media to share a note suggesting all stay at home amid the spike in COVID-19 cases. She also said that she is scared of seeing images from different parts of the country.
Taking to her Twitter handle, Priyanka wrote, "The Covid 19 situation across India is grave. I'm seeing images and stories coming in from different parts of the country that are so scary...the situation is out of control and our medical fraternity is at a breaking point."
"Please stay home.. I beg you to stay home. Do it for yourself, your family, friends, neigbours, community, and also out frontline workers. Every doctor and frontline worker is saying the exact same thing: Stay home, Ensure everyone you know stays home, If you have to step out, wear a mask, Talk to those around you and help them understand this situation... we cannot take this lightly. Get the vaccine when it's your turn. Doing this will help us ease the immense pressure on our medical system," she further wrote.

India is currently the worst hit country when it comes to the COVID-19 pandmeic. The country has been recording a daily tally of nearly 3 lakh positive cases. Reports of shortage of medical supplies have been reported from various parts of the country. Amid this, the Central Government on Monday announced that all citizens of India above the age of 18 will be eligible for COVID-19 vaccination starting May 1.
