Rani Mukherji says The Great Indian Kitchen is one of the greatest Indian films made in recent times

The Malayalam film The Great Indian Kitchen was one of the most talked about films that was released this year. Apart from its thought provoking theme, the film was also in news for being rejected by major OTT giants. The film was first released on a Malayalam OTT channel named Nee stream. However, word of mouth did wonders for the film, with it eventually releasing on Amazon Prime Video. Actress Rani Mukerji who watched the movie has now praised the film.

Rani Mukerji sent a message to Malayalam star Prithviraj along with whom she had co-starred in Aiyya, appreciating The Great Indian Kitchen and requested to pass on the message to director Jeo Baby.

Jeo Baby took to his Facebook to share the message he received from Prithviraj.

"Hi Geo. This is Prithviraj. Rani Mukherjee saw your film and wanted me to convey to you what she thought is the Great Indian Kitchen (sic)... PS: I am yet to see the film, but congrats on the great success," he wrote.

Further he shared the message by Rani which read, "there's a film called The great Indian kitched...I saw it... and thought it was brilliant!!! Pls can you tell the director that I loverffff the film and it's one of the greatest Indian films made in recent times..I saw your name pop up so thought I can send this msg thru you..itsssss soooooio good the movie..."

The Great Indian Kitchen starring Suraj Venjaramoodu and Nimisha Sajayan follows the story of a newly wed woman who struggles to lead the life of a submissive wife subjected to household work alone and prevented from having a voice of her own.
