Actor-turned-film critic Kamaal R Khan (KRK)recently thanked a person by the name of Govinda for standing by him. Several media reports concluded the person to be film star Govinda. However, Govinda has now reacted to the tweet and said that he has not been in touch with KRK for years.
On May 29, KRK had tweeted, “Govinda Bhai thank you for your love and support. I won’t disappoint you!”.The tweet came amidst his legal battle with superstar Salman Khan. After the release of the film Radhe, Salman Khan had filed a defamation suit against KRK. KRK said that the suit was a response to his critical review of the film, while Salman's legal team said that the defamation case pertains to personal attacks on the actor and comments made by KRK about the star's NGO, Being Human.
Now, reacting to reports of him supporting KRK, Govinda said that he has not met or even spoke to KRK on call in years. He said that it could be some other person with the same name as he was not tagged by KRK on the post. He added that the self-proclaimed critic had spoken and written unfit statements about him and his movies as well in the past.
Govinda further said that his name is being dragged in the matter unnecessarily when he does not even understand the depth of the case between Salman and KRK. He recalled that a similar attempt was made when his name was dragged in when actor Kartik Aaryan lost a couple of films recently. He said that it seems like an agenda by a demented mind to create nuisance amidst this pandemic.
