Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal shoot a teaser for their debut production film Girls Will Be Girls in Dehradun

Actors Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal announced in March that they are forming their own production company, Pushing Buttons Studios, together. Girls Will Be Girls is the title of the duo's first film, which will be directed by Shuchi Talati.

The actor-producer shot a teaser with their producing partners Sanjay Gulati of Crawling Angel Films and Claire Chassagne of French banner Dolce Vita Film in Dehradun this past weekend. They're keeping quiet about the movie, and the teaser is set to be submitted to a script lab in August, where it'll be considered for a grant.

According to the makers, the film's script was also the only Indian script invited to the prestigious Berlinale Script Station 2021, a lab that chooses 10 concepts from around the world every year. It's also the only Indian project in this year's Jerusalem Script Lab, and it'll be formally presented at the Jerusalem Film Festival in August this year.

Ali Fazal and Richa Chadha have been together for over five years now. The couple got engaged in 2020. They were supposed to get married last year but their wedding was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
