5 Reasons why Sidharth Malhotra’s Shershaah deserves to be on your watch list this Independence Day

Shershaah, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Kirara Advani, will hit the screens ahead of Independence Day weekend, and its teaser was released to coincide with Kargil Vijay Diwas celebrations. The trailer for Shershaah, starring Siddharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani, was recently released. The nearly three-minute trailer is adrenaline pumping and we highlight 5 reasons why you should not miss Shershaah.

5 Reasons why Sidharth Malhotra’s Shershaah deserves to be on your watch list this Independence Day

1. Based on true events: Shershaah is based on the remarkable true story of Captain Vikram Batra, a Param Veer Chakra awardee and Kargil War hero who rose to popularity and became a household figure during the Kargil War in 1999. His unrelenting courage in pursuing Pakistani soldiers out of Indian Territory was vital in India's victory over Pakistan in the Kargil War in 1999.

2. Sidharth Malhotra in uniform; and he owns it confidently: Sidharth Malhotra is seen for the first time in the uniform. He portrays Vikram Batra, an Indian Army soldier who was a crucial figure in the Kargil conflict in 1999. Everything about Sidharth, from his swag to his dialect, personality, and body language, screams volume about the intense preparation he has undergone to get into his character for Shershaah.

3. Content-driven film of the year: The past few years have seen a shift in Bollywood movie consumption, with content-driven films setting the benchmark and later becoming box office hits. Shershaah, the first content film of 2021, will be released on Amazon Prime Video on August 12, continuing to impress moviegoers and audiences.

4. Tribute to the Indian Army: Several Bollywood films have been made in honour of the Indian Army. These films are being made in the hopes of reminding everyone of the sacrifices made by the men on the border to keep us safe. Shershaah is a tribute to Captain Vikram Batra (PVC) and the Indian Armed Forces.

5. Impressive Dialogues that leave a mark: In the trailer, Siddharth Malhotra is extremely dominant. Every single line of his makes him stand out. ‘I'll arrive waving the tricolour or wrapped in it, but I'll absolutely come'. Anyone who hears this dialogue would feel a surge of patriotism.

Shershaah will premiere on Amazon Prime Video in India and 240 other countries and territories on August 12, 2021, in time for Independence Day Weekend.
